Transcutaneous bilirubinometer , which is often referred to as the percutaneous jaundice tester, is indeed a more commonly used way to monitor jaundice in clinical practice. The percutaneous jaundice meter is a noninvasive measurement that shows a child's jaundice level, or bilirubin level, by pressing against the skin with a small machine.

1.Black people and people with dark skin can't use this machine.The skin color is too dark and the jaundice device cannot detect it.White people and yellow people are fine.
It is not only our jaundice meter that cannot be used for black skin. Basically, none of the jaundice instruments on the market can be used on black skin.
